U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will present President Donald Trump with a U.S.-China artificial intelligence-related agreement, two sources told Fox Business Network White House correspondent Edward Lawrence.<\/p>\n
The agreement will open a “hotline” for direct communication on AI, similar to the direct line of communication the military has,\u00a0enabling either side to have a direct line if any AI-related problems arise, such as hacking, national security concerns, rogue AIs or other issues.\u2002\u2002\u2002<\/p>\n
President Trump will make a thumbs up or thumbs down decision on the deal this week before his meeting with President Xi, the sources noted.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump has been an outspoken advocate of AI, as the cutting-edge technology proliferates and rapidly advances both in the U.S. and abroad.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“AI is the next Industrial Revolution, or Internet, but will be even larger and more impactful, possibly as much as 25% of our Country\u2019s GDP. We are leading China, and the rest of the World, and I intend to keep it that way!” the president declared in part in a Saturday Truth Social post.<\/p>\n
