FIRST ON FOX:<\/strong> Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., and the House Ways and Means Committee are pressing the IRS to strip a California nonprofit of its tax-exempt status, alleging the Middle East Children’s Alliance has ties to organizations linked to a Foreign Terrorist Organization and the Neville Roy Singham’s pro-CCP network, citing increasingly opaque foreign grant disclosures.<\/p>\n
In a letter to Internal Revenue Service CEO Frank Bisignano, Smith and all GOP members of the committee are calling for an investigation and the revocation of the Middle East Children’s Alliance tax-exempt status after the committee says it found alarming ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of the Palestine (PFLP) territories, a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.<\/p>\n
“Our investigation uncovered alarming connections between the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) and organizations and individuals linked directly to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine \u2013 a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization,” Smith told Fox News Digital in a statement.<\/p>\n
A new House Ways and Means Committee letter calls on the IRS to scrutinize MECA’s overseas grants, citing alleged ties to PFLP-linked entities and what lawmakers describe as increasingly opaque reporting of millions of dollars in foreign disbursement<\/span> (House Ways and Means Committee \/ Fox News)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Even more concerning, as MECA\u2019s annual foreign grantmaking exploded from roughly $1.8 million to more than $10 million after the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023, their paper trail showing in which that money went practically vanished,” he added. “In 2024, MECA reported a staggering $4.4 million foreign wire transfer without naming the recipient or even a specific country and, in 2025, they did not provide a description for any of the 38 foreign grants they made that year, which totaled over $11 million.”<\/p>\n
Smith and committee Republicans note that tax-exempt status is a privilege, not a right, and that they believe the Middle East Children’s Alliance does not qualify for the status.<\/p>\n
The letter also notes connections between Neville Roy Singham’s pro-CCP network and the Middle East Children’s Alliance.<\/p>\n
“The People\u2019s Forum, Inc., a tax-exempt organization which I subpoenaed on July 24, 2026, following its refusal to comply with ongoing Committee requests to produce documents, 15 reported a grant of $16,420 to MECA in tax year 2024, described as a “Humanitarian Relief Fundraiser,” Smith’s letter read.<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to the Middle East Children’s Alliance, the People\u2019s Forum and Singham but didn’t receive responses.<\/p>\n
Fox News Digital exclusively obtained a new bombshell report from \u2060the Network Contagion Research Institute, a nonprofit based in Princeton, New Jersey, which shows connections between the Singham network and a number of radical organizations designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.<\/p>\n
The Middle East Children’s Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Berkeley, California, with a mission to “support children and families in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon.”<\/p>\n

The Network Contagion Research Institute alleges that the Middle East Children’s Alliance has ties “through personnel and civil society groups” to the \u2060PFLP, which has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S. since 1997.<\/p>\n
Middle East Children’s Alliance “features some of the same individuals, and counts members of Congress, prominent senators and America’s most prestigious foundations\u2026 among its supporters and funders,” Network Contagion Research Institute co-founder and Chief Science Officer Joel Finkelstein told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

“This is an organization that has provided resources to senior leadership of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the PFLP, a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization, while radicalizing American children and funding jihadist propaganda,” Finkelstein added.<\/p>\n
The Network Contagion Research Institute cited a 1993 U.S. Agency for International Development report authored by Dr. Glenn E. Robinson, where Robinson linked three organizations who support the PFLP to the Middle East Children’s Alliance.<\/p>\n

“Shut It Down for Palestine,” a coalition of nonprofits led by the People’s Forum, describes its group\u2019s core mission as increasing “the pressure with more marches, walk-outs, sit-ins and other forms of direct action directed at the political offices, businesses and workplaces that fund, invest and collaborate with Israeli genocide and occupation.”<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, “Shut It Down for Palestine” directly linked a fundraising tab on the coalition’s website to a fundraiser hosted by the Middle East Children’s Alliance titled, “International Fundraiser: The People Stand with Gaza.” The initiative has a goal of $2 million and has raised roughly $1.75 million as of Tuesday.<\/p>\n

In the fundraiser’s description, the Middle East Children’s Alliance notes that the People\u2019s Forum, among others, helped launch the fundraiser.<\/p>\n
A Fox News Digital investigation found that tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham contributed $22.5 million in direct funding to the People\u2019s Forum, a pro-China nonprofit that purchased a New York City headquarters for $5.15 million, according to property records.<\/p>\n
