Ford is recalling more than 40,000 vehicles due to a headlight defect that could reduce the driver’s visibility, according to federal regulators.<\/p>\n

About 41,748 vehicles are potentially affected by the recall, including the 2025-2027 Ford Expedition, 2026 Ford F-250 SD, 2026 Ford F-350 SD, 2026 Ford F-450 SD and 2026 Ford F-550 SD models, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in its recall notice.<\/p>\n

The NHTSA said the exterior lighting issue could reduce the driver’s visibility or make the vehicle harder for others to see on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.<\/p>\n

“The headlight assemblies may contain a contaminated LED chip, which can result in a loss of daytime running lights, parking lights, high beams or low beams,” the NHTSA said in its notice.<\/p>\n

“A loss of exterior lighting can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash,” the notice states.<\/p>\n

The safety report advised drivers on how they could identify the issue.<\/p>\n

“A dashboard indicator light will illuminate for customers experiencing inoperative low beam and\/or high beam headlamps,” the report reads.<\/p>\n
