Iain Morrison has been appointed regional managing director, commercial Mid-Market for the Royal Bank of Scotland.
He replaces Judith Cruickshank who was appointed chief operating officer of the bank’s retail business earlier this year.
Mr Morrison brings three decades of experience leading corporate and commercial banking franchises at HSBC across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has a strong background in supporting business customers of all sizes, from SMEs and mid-market companies through to global corporates.
His appointment further underlines the Royal Bank’s commitment to growth in Scotland and to strengthening its position as Scotland’s biggest bank for business. The Royal Bank of Scotland supports 110,000 Scottish businesses, with 7,600 of these businesses in the vital mid-market segment.
The announcement comes as NatWest Group’s chief executive Paul Thwaite is meeting customers and colleagues across Scotland ahead of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s 300th anniversary next year. This included hosting a roundtable discussion with mid-market businesses in Glasgow.
