Hero Media & Entertainment (HM&E), the Scotland-based digital news media and events company, has appointed Donald Martin as consulting managing editor.
He will provide editorial guidance and support across the company’s growing portfolio of titles, which includes Daily Business, Scottish Financial News, Scottish Legal News, Scottish Construction Now, Scottish Housing News, Irish Legal News, Dram Scotland, Hotel Scotland and the soon to be re-launched ScottishNews.com.
The portfolio reaches a combined audience of more than 60,000 newsletter subscribers and 105,000 LinkedIn followers.
Mr Martin’s editorial career spans some of Scotland’s biggest newspaper titles. He previously served as editor-in-chief of The Herald, editor-in-chief of DC Thomson, editor of the Sunday Post, Glasgow Evening Times and the Evening Express in Aberdeen — roles that established him as one of the country’s most experienced newsroom leaders.
On joining HM&E, Mr Martin said: “It’s an exciting new venture with a creative and dynamic outlook to delivering quality content to a modern digital audience. There is already a hugely talented editorial team in place and I look forward to supporting them – and reacquainting myself with a few familiar faces.”
